MANY MANY PRAYERS FOR GUS the little Beagle.
When we received a request from a rural dog pound to take a very SENIOR beagle of course we stepped up. When he arrived after a day-long trip in the transport Van.. We were a bit shocked.. In all of his pictures it appeared that his tongue was hanging out but that was not the case.. That is his JAW hanging.. We are unsure if this is dental rot or injury .. We will see what our Vet has to say. He is terribly skinny and needs to gain weight. We are feeding him on a flat plate 3 times a day with some orphan formula mixed in.. He LOVES to eat.. but cannot eat out of a bowl. He is a happy little guy and very very sweet. He has NOT had a good life..- THAT is for sure!! WE absolutely adore him and want what is BEST for him and IF any kind of surgery at his age can safely be done.
All I can tell you is we WILL give him the best life possible. OH ! that sweet forgiving face and soft eyes just rip your heart out. He also LOVES his comfy plush bed. He and Ginger are becoming best friends. Ginger is spayed so – no worries there. He is just an old happy Beagle.. PRAY FOR GUS. PLEASE !
