BETTY WHITE was adopted to a wonderful home 6 months ago. Saturday she was brought back to ISHAS… She began not getting along with the other doggies in the house and wanting to stay outside.
She returned here in the same mood as she left. She greeting everyone and howled her famous howl. BARRROOOOO! She goes outside does her business and wants right back in to get into her comfy big bed. We took her out for a walk but she was not interested in that. BETTY WHITE is a sweet Heart and gets along with all of our doggies just fine.
BETTY WHITE has a sad history.. She was found as a stray in a very rural area.. She was emaciated and had a slight limp and a lump on her abdomen. Fido’s Companion Rescue took her under their wing and she was completly Vetted at Westpark Animal Hospital.. Betty White was 13 years old – her body was riddled with BB’s..( thus the limp) most of the BB’s could not be removed she had an untreated deep hernia in her abdomen.. Her teeth were worn and filthy. All of this was treated at Westpark Animal Hospital including surgical repair of the hernia. On TOP of all this … BETTY WHITE was Lyme Disease Positive.. The call came from mama Fido and ISHAS took BETTY WHITE into our Sanctuary. She received 2 full courses of medications BUT she remains Lyme positive.. She shows no signs of Lyme’s. She just needs to lay her head on a comfy pillow and snuggle in…. AND SHE DID. BETTY WHITE is back at ISHAS now and we will give her the best life we can. She has been through enough. BETTY WHITE will most likely ALWAYS be Lyme Disease Positive but we will keep and eye on that and have her re-tested every 6 months..
I SAID IT WHEN SHE CAME – I SAID IT WHILE SHE WAS HERE – I SAID IT WHEN SHE GOT ADOPTED – AND I WILL SAY IT UPON HER RETURN…..”Everybody LOVES BETTY WHITE” !
Things just were not working out for her in her adoptive home…. That is OK! You will be just fine here at ISHAS.
Our only concern now is to find BETTY WHITE a THICK plush bed and Toys she likes again. Her toys were not returned (maybe she wore them out at her home) … We will find her new ones..
Please donate for ongoing care and A GREAT BIG “PLUSH” BED for BETTY WHITE. Don’t get me wrong…. she currently HAS a big bed – but BETTY WHITE deserves a NEW PLUSH one.

$250 minimum adoption donation unless otherwise noted by ISHAS
