THIS little old gal lost her entire world… Her Mama and her home.. A neighbor was doing what she could – but could not keep her.. She was living alone in the owners home and only got to see anyone when the neighbor came to feed her & let her out to potty twice a day. She laid snuggled up in her mama’s jacket when they entered the home.
She is guessed to be 15 + years old and blind. She is afraid and very confused. She Weighs 4 Lbs.
Our exam upon intake reveals that she is about 1 Lb. over weight.. girthy, neighbor was feeding her lunchmeat, cheese & chicken. She does not know what dog food is… Her teeth are rotten, and her bulgy blind eyes are concerning. Her ears are filthy.. She walks hunched up.. Yes, another one in dire need of a comfy spot to lay her head. The lobby dogs are trying to let MARNI know that everything will be ok and she will be loved and well taken care of. It is amazing to watch our precious special needs small doggies try to comfort this poor little thing.
She got a nice warm bath and her long nails were trimmed..We will let her settle in and get acquainted to her new surroundings… the home she knew no longer exists.. How in the world can we explain that to her?
NOW, comes the task of finding a place here for her here.. We are sooo full. We also have to find WHAT we can get her to eat.. evidently the house was in turmoil this morning and MARNI did not eat anything…Anyone else being up-rooted from the only home they knew would feel the same way.
I am going to ask that you donate towards her much needed vetting and care. Many would say “just have her euthanized”.. not us… SHE deserves a chance to know good care and a clean bed..for as long as she has here on earth.
The deceased owner had no family and no will or instructions for this little old girl. It is a sad situation. We will do all we can for you MARNI.
