BERTRAM was brought by a Deputy Dog Warden from Lucas County.. They had called ISHAS asking for help with BERTRAM, a stray dog picked up and taken to the Shelter became a favorite at the Shelter.. BUT, no one came for him and no one wanted to adopt him due to his medical conditions.. ISHAS stepped up for BERTRAM.. His eyes told us he needed help and an Orthopedic Bed with fluffy blankets to snuggle in. BERTRAM made a slight boo boo on his ride to ISHAS. Yeah, well it seems BERTRAM jumped into the backseat of the Deputy’s Van and ate an entire bag of Beef Jerky.. Uh huh.. The Deputy was driving on the highway so she could not pull over to stop the Jerky raid.. so, BERTRAM came with a belly full of Beef Jerky…which in fact, caused a lot of water drinking annnnddd a lot of peeing.. BERTRAM investigated our back yard and initiated ( with pee ) anything that was standing,… kennels, trees etc. etc. After finishing an entire huge bowl of water. . . This Morning he had only one overnight accident. We are blaming the Beef Jerky because BERTRAM did not like to be around his pee accident.
Shortly after arriving BERTRAM got a soothing medicated bath – dried well and we put his special skin cream all over his raw spot & ears. His ears are inflamed and sore and he gets ear treatment.. He really enjoyed his bath but we are far away from getting his skin cleared up. It is mostly on his belly and legs… WE PUSH ON..
BERTRAM had a wonderful dinner. His nightly potty run and then enjoyed the quiet for the night in his snuggly bed
